Clay and I are big fans of Christmas movies. We do the typical Hallmark movies in July and again after Thanksgiving (or before). We watch Christmas Vacation, Charlie Brown, A Christmas Story, Christmas Carol, Grinch…. you name it. We try to get in all the classics each year. But, we also try to add, at least, one brand new Christmas movie, each year, as well. This year, we had the opportunity to screen “Santa Fake” and we loved it!

Santa Fake is a brand new Christmas movie that just came to DVD and digital on December 3. I was lucky enough to receive a complimentary screener to watch with my family. All opinions are our own.

The film stars Damian McGinty (“Glee;” Celtic Thunder), Heather Morris (“Glee”), John Rhys-Davies (The Lord of the Rings; Indiana Jones), and Judd Nelson (“Empire;” The Breakfast Club; St. Elmo’s Fire).  It also stars Tony Amendola, who Clay and I love from Stargate SG-1.

Damian McGinty is adorable as Pat Keeley, an orphaned, undocumented Irish Immigrant that found himself under the wing of a crime boss in NYC. I don’t want to give any spoilers away but, let’s just say, Pat tried to flee and things go a bit awry.

This movie is cute. Santa Fake is different than most Christmas movies we watch. It is filled with musical numbers by Damian McGinty. It has many heartfelt, touching moments as he learns his way in life. There is plenty of action as well as extremely touching scenes and comedic scenes. I may have had a tear in my eye once or twice and laughed plenty.

I would have loved to have seen musical numbers that included the rest of the cast. I feel like some of the talent was a bit wasted by not having Heather Morris and the others also do musical numbers. Overall, though, it is a great movie to watch.

The kids, Clay and I curled up in front of the TV with blankets, homemade brownies and chocolate chip cookies and big mugs of hot chocolate and enjoyed watching Santa Fake as a family.

There isn’t any bad language or crude scenes so it is perfect for a family movie night during the Holidays!

Filled with sentimental romance, family-friendly comedy, and colorful holiday spirit featuring top-notch musical performances by the sensational cast, SANTA FAKE will enchant the whole family this Christmas!

Also releasing as companions to the film are the soundtrack EP from the star Damian McGinty and a children’s picture book: SANTA FAKE: You Are Never Alone at Christmas, which will be available in e-book and print.
